At Lisibl, we believe your family's memories belong to you. We are committed to protecting your privacy and treating your data with the utmost respect. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

What We Collect

Account Data: name, email address, password (hashed), children's names and birthdates (to personalize memories)
Memory Content: photos, videos, voice memos, written notes, and location data you choose to pin
Payment Information: processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card details on our servers.
Device Information: basic device type and browser information for service delivery and security
Gifting Information: if purchasing a gift card, the recipient's name and email

How We Use Your Data

To provide and maintain the Lisibl service
To process subscriptions, payments, and gift card orders
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription updates, weekly memory digests)
To enable family sharing features you configure (viewer invitations, occasional sharing links)
To provide optional AI-powered features (auto-captioning, story generation) when you choose to use them
To respond to customer support inquiries

What We Don't Do

No Tracking: We do not track your activity across other websites or apps
No Selling Data: We will never sell your personal information or your children's data to third parties
No Ads: We do not use advertisements or partner with ad networks
No AI Training: We never use your family's content to train AI models

Third-Party Services

We use carefully selected services to deliver Lisibl:

Cloudinary: secure hosting and delivery of your photos and videos
Mapbox: interactive map rendering and location services
Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions and gift cards
Resend: delivery of transactional emails
AI Services: optional AI features (captioning, story generation) — your content is processed on-demand and never stored by AI providers

Each provider processes data only as necessary to deliver their specific service.

Data Storage & Security

All memories are stored securely in the cloud across all subscription plans (Seedling, Growing, and Heirloom)
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS)
Passwords are cryptographically hashed and never stored in plain text
Children access their personal view through a recovery code and birthdate — no email or password required

Family Sharing

You control exactly who can see your family's memories
Viewers (grandparents, family members) can only access memories if you explicitly invite them
You can revoke any viewer's access instantly from your settings
Occasional sharing creates temporary, time-limited links that automatically expire

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management
We ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies
You can manage cookie preferences at any time

Your Rights

Export all your data at any time (available in your account settings)
Delete individual memories or your entire account
When you delete data, it is permanently removed — we do not keep hidden copies
Opt out of non-essential communications
For EU residents: you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectification, and data portability

Children's Privacy

Lisibl is designed for parents to preserve memories of their children
We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 16
All children's data is managed and controlled by the parent account holder

Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes via email
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
